Want to know what a typical day at TopVintage is like? Interested in the fashion faux pas and favourite items of our own TopVintage ladies? You can read all about it in this recurring topic on our blog! This time it's Anick's turn: our lovely Team lead Fashion Editing and soon-to-be buyer. Keep reading, gorgeous!

What does a typical day at TopVintage look like for you
‘’Let me start by saying that no day at TopVintage is ever the same: 'Never a dull moment!' My workstation is situated in a large open-plan office which is home to a number of different teams, making it a very dynamic but also fun place to work. My day usually starts with a meeting in which we, together with our buyers and members of the photography team, discuss which items have already passed our Quality Control and how quickly we can get them online. I then start making the content of the new clothes, bringing the items to life as it were. This includes writing a catchy and informative item description as well as making our own size guide. This size guide isn’t based on the size mentioned on the label, but on our own findings. Did you know that our TopVintage ladies try on every garment that we sell? And that all items are measured in-house? We then complete the look by styling the item with, for example, a pair of sassy heels, sparkling jewellery or a matching top.

Finally, when all the items scheduled for the day have gone online, we make sure that these products are displayed on our website in the most attractive way possible. We treat our website just like the window display of a bricks-and-mortar store and try to create an attractive ‘shop window’ that catches the eye.”

What are some of your fashion faux pas?
‘’I don’t think ‘faux pas’ is the right word, but I do have a love for leopard that can’t be tamed, so I have to be careful not to overdo it. If I walk into a shop and see a tiger print, I’m immediately drawn to it like a magnet. That’s why in Dutch I have the nickname ‘Nel... Pantervel’, which loosely translates as Lynn Leopard skin. ;-)”

Which trend would you like to stick around?
‘’Flared jeans are really my thing! I’m not that tall (1.61 m / 5’3”), but wearing jeans with slightly flared legs makes my legs look 10 centimetres longer. Besides, flared jeans are super versatile! Match with a pretty blouse and heels for a feminine power look or wear them paired with a playful top and sneakers on a casual day. Honestly ladies: I’m convinced that every body type looks even more beautiful in a great pair of flared jeans ;-).’’

Which decade is your favourite and why?
"Oh no, please don’t ask me to pick a favourite – that’s like asking someone to pick a favourite child. wink emoji I really do think that every decade has something special to offer. But if I HAVE to choose, I would have to pick the seventies, just like my colleague Sandra. It must be those flared jeans ha ha. But long floral maxi dresses are also FAB-U-LOUS! I have a few of those from King Louie in the most gorgeous, warm 70s colours. I like wearing them paired with edgy sneakers or summery sandals, so versatile! Really comfy but feminine too.’’

What are some of your favourite items from this season’s collection?
‘’Then I would definitely have to pick one of those pretty King Louie dresses. The Olive Hooper Pocket Dress in Gold is a real stunner. The cut is super flattering, the warm hue looks great with sun-kissed skin and the fabric is lovely breezy. And she is now part of our sale collection… it’s definitely making me greedy.

Oh, and I’m a real shoe-aholic too, so my heart definitely skipped a beat when I saw the Isabella Sandals in Pastel Turquoise Green. I’m definitely no pro when it comes to walking in high heels so I usually just skip the heels. But these are as comfy as slippers and made of buttery soft leather. Sounds like I’m doing a great job convincing myself to click them into my shopping bag after all ha ha ha.’’
