With a growing bump and boobies, it can be quite a challenge to find cute outfits that you can continue to wear throughout your pregnancy. Because even though you will find yourself stocking up on baby clothes (so cute), you shouldn’t forget about yourself either. During my own pregnancy, I am constantly looking for options and inspiration, but I have come to realise that I don’t find the majority of maternity clothes all that fashionable. So, in this blog I’m sharing some of my favourite looks from our own collection with you! Because these are clothes that you can wear before and after you give birth. But of course, these are also great looks for the upcoming summer season if you’re not a mommy-to-be.

Pregnancy outfits for summer

The advantage of being pregnant in the summer is that you can wear lots of breezy dresses. So comfy and feminine too! I personally also love wearing jumpsuits in the summer. They are comfortable to wear and the secret to one-and-done dressing. Perfect for saving yourself a little bit of time in the morning, especially after another sleepless night (yes, it’s happening already ;-))!  By choosing a roomy style and going up a size, there is plenty of room for your bump to grow while it’s also a perfect outfit choice after giving birth. Below you will find my favourite outfit, which is from Sugarhill Brighton, as well as some other lovely summer outfits. All you need to do is click on the picture to shop these items!

The best pregnancy outfits for a party

Make sure you have your favourite non-alcoholic cocktail in your hand, it’s time to party! Of course, you’re busy decorating the nursery and buying all the baby essentials you’re going to need, but there will also be moments when you can relax. And these festive looks are always a great choice for a party or a dinner. The long dress by Collectif Clothing is very elegant thanks to the front slit and versatile too since you can either wear the dress strapless or halter styles. The cream-coloured swing dress by Banned Retro is roomy, yet elegant. That makes her a perfect choice to wear right up through the end of your pregnancy. Tip: If you want to wear heels, opt for wedges with a good footbed, for example from Tamaris or bring some backup ballet flats or sneakers just in case. Much better for your lower back and pelvis, which are already having a hard time now. ;-)

Looks with my favourite dresses

Pretty flared trousers really are my go-to look, but now that I’m pregnant I do find that dresses are really comfortable to wear and a perfect match with sneakers if you like an edgier touch to your look. Or sandals in case your feet are swollen. ;-) If you’re no fan of maternity trousers, you should definitely give the dresses below, from brands like Smashed Lemon, Vintage Chic and Compania Fastastica a try! Which dress is your favourite?

Which size should I pick?

Since I am not wearing maternity clothes here, but looks with 'regular clothes', the advice from our size guide (which is normally correct in 99% of cases) won’t be correct. My advice when ordering these items, would be to order up one or two sizes. That’s why I have also mentioned the size that I’m wearing in these outfits, I normally wear a size S. But of course it also depends on the style and the fabric. For example if the fabric is stretchy, ordering one size bigger than your usual size might give your beautiful baby bump plenty of room to grow. But if that’s not the case, ordering 2 sizes up is definitely recommended. I also usually order trousers (from stretchy materials) 2 sizes bigger so they are a comfy fit with room to grow. Are you planning on breastfeeding? Then our dresses from Vintage Chic are also a great tip!
